Responding to a Karen

I saw a meme online, “Christianity is Karen.” How true. If you don’t know the reference, a “Karen” is a typified busybody who pushes their will onto others.

The other day I get this comment on an article, awaiting moderation:

This is a terrible blog! What a horrible thing to say, burn a Holy Bible! You will bow your head and knee to the true living God one day. Stop this blasphemy….

She goes on and on, signing her comment as “Barbara.”

Well Barbara, I could offer you some general respect and itemize why I’m doing this (or you could read what I’ve already written), but instead I’m going to use your own bible against you:

11 Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. 12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.

1 Timothy 2:9-15

Barbara, I’m a guy, so according to your “good book,” you shouldn’t speak up to me like you did. To remain true to your current faith, you should know your place of silence.

Of course, you could denounce your faith, and burn that bible of yours… then you’d have the opportunity to judge me and talk to me on equal footing… As long as you’re a slave of christianity, you should obey your instructions from your bible and not speak up, nor hold any authority over men, like me.
