I came across one of those Christian vs. Christian videos. This is the stuff of cults. This one is a protestant video attacking the catholic church. I really don’t care as to me, both are corrupt. However, one arrogant reader responded to a catholic with this comment:
With all due respect, miss. If you agree that the word of God is infallible ( meaning it has no errors) can you point it out in what chapter of the bible it is mentioned? I was a Catholic. But believe me. I was shocked at how many times the church misleads. One thing is human truth which is fallible and God’s word which is infallible. But remember. Contradicting God’s word is not knowing Who God and Jesus really is.Rodrigo
Rodrigo (author of the above comment) was attacking a catholic who thought the video was suspicious. I responded to Rodrigo with this:
With all do respect, if you believe the bible has no errors, how do you defend: Numbers 31:15-18, Deuteronomy 22:20-21, Deuteronomy 22:28-29, Deuteronomy 21:10-14, 1 Corinthians 11:3-9, 1 Corinthians 14:33-35, 1 Timothy 2:9-15, 2nd Thess: 3:10, Exodus 31:14-15, Leviticus 20:9-10, Leviticus 21:9? Either god was fine with rape, murder, mass murder, killing children (by his own hand and also by instructing soldiers to kill children), then all of a sudden he wasn’t fine with any of it… Or the bible has some serious contradictions. I doubt you’ll read it. Christians already have a foregone conclusion that the bible is in fallible, so they never really try to think for themselves to see if this their book could be wrong. Let go of that inherent idea (that the bible is infallible) and then read it. Ask yourself basic questions, “why was blood required? How did animal blood cover sin?” If you go and ask your pastor or other christians, they’ll simply distract you with “historic context,” or some other nonsense. Really get into it and dig deep with a clear mind. If you do so, I doubt you’ll remain a christian.
Rodrigo had one last response:
let me read up on it. But take note. Judging by your screen name you are either atheist or you must find it confusing. Let me read up on those chapters. But note this. This is all Old Testament. New Testament is what I am basing myself on. God bless you!Rodrigo’s response to me
I replied to him to read up on it, as his god is also mentioned as the same “yesterday today and forever,” so while he is new testament focused, it’s still the same god… and if he has issues with the Old testament, why is it there? why not rip those pages out of the bible? Finally I left him with some contradictory teachings within the New Testament.
He never came back! That was on Thursday/Friday. I imagine he couldn’t figure out a good answer and is waiting for Sunday to ask his pastor about it. Believe me, this isn’t the first time I’ve dealt with such cult like people.
If you can’t answer this on your own, that’s a big problem with your faith. If you must rely on a pastor, iman, master or guru to think for you, you’re not on any spiritual path at all. This is simply the stuff of cults.
Let’s see if Rodrigo can come back with an answer, but these are the core aspects of the Old Testament that are hard to digest.
